| This Hasegawa Grumman X-29A Experimental HAB13 is a plastic model kit in the Hasegawa Aircraft Plastic Model Kits range. Description: Detailed 1/72 scale assembly model kit of the X-29A, an experimental aircraft developed by Grumman Aerospace Corporation (now Northrop Grumman) to explore leading-edge technologies in aircraft design. The X-29 incorporated breakthrough technologies such as forward-swept wing, canard control surface, computerized fly-by-wire control, and use of carbon-fiber composites. Two X-29s were built by Grumman, and the X-29 first flew in 1984 from Edwards AFB with Grumman's Chief Test Pilot Chuck Sewell at the controls. For over a decade following its first flight, X-29s were tested for many technologies that can be found in current operational Gen-4 and Gen-5 fighter aircrafts.
