The EC 135 is one of the most up-to-date light helicopters. The interior can accommodate 7 passengers or a fully equipped rescue unit. The noise level and accident risk are reduced by the shrouded tail rotor (fenestron). The effectiveness of the emergency rescue service is greatly improved when the helicopters carry emergency doctors. Consequently the AC 135 is often used by the ADAC (German automobile club) and OAMTC (Austrian automobile club).
