The F9F-5 Panther was best known as the first carrier-borne jet combat plane used by the US Navy during the Korean War. This excellent fighter/bomber came tobe used on all aircraft carriers, the F-5 with the US Navy and the F-4 with the US Marine Corps. The US Navy "Blue Angels" aerobatics team also used the Panthersuccessfully until 1954.
